Birthday Fun!!!! and not so fun!!!

Well, this week was filled with lots of cupcakes, candles, presents, streamers, dentist visits, x-rays......

We started off the birthday week celebration last Sunday, November 15th with Andrew's 8th birthday. Dad took him shopping and he got to pick out a new "totally awesome Andy McDonnell black skateboard". When I asked why he didn't get a "Tony Hawk" one (that's the only one I have heard of) I was informed that he is an old guy like in his 40's and that Andy McDonnell is younger and cooler. Get with it mom.
Dad also took Andrew and Olivia and Caroline to see "A Christmas Carol". They said it was really good but also pretty scary. Good thing I did not take the little girls to see it. We are having enough trouble sleeping through the night around here lately.

We had nice quiet plans for Hannah's birthday celebration, which very quickly got turned around as we had to rush her to the dentist Friday the 20th (her birthday) for xrays of her front tooth. She had a fall from an arm chair in our hearth room Thursday night and impacted her front tooth completely into the gum. When she fell she hit the edge of the end table with her mouth. It could have been a lot worse- so we are thankful it was just her baby tooth. The dentist decided to leave it and not try to pull it down which may add more trauma to the tissue and tendons surrounding the tooth. He said that it will probably drop back down some on its own, but probably not completely. She is a tough little girl. After about 10 xrays and 25mins of screaming, we asked her what she wanted to do for the rest of her birthday. She wanted to "go to the mall and ride the merry go round." So that's what we did. Then, later that evening we had our nice quiet celebration when the other kids got home from school.
We are so thankful for both Andrew's and Hannah's lives and overall had very nice birthday celebrations. It wouldn't be normal for us if we didn't have some kind of crazy excitement going on around here!!!!!
Speaking of teeth, Elizabeth lost her first tooth Sunday morning before church. The tooth fairy came and left her $2.00 in quarters. And, she got to keep her first tooth. Whenever the tooth fairy comes for a first tooth, they leave it for a keepsake. Atleast that is what the tooth fairy in St. Albans does. Or so we are told.
I had my 24 week check up today. Everything looked good and the baby's heartbeat sounded good and strong. We are still undecided about his name yet.
We have so much to be thankful for this year.... our family, sweet friends and most of all the peace that surpasses all understanding in our Beautiful Savior, Jesus!!! We are looking forward to a quiet Thanksgiving dinner with our family. (Well, quiet for the Thom family is really not that quiet)
